City of Hardin History
Most people today remember Hardin during the last half of the 20th century when it was a busy and thriving little farming community.
Car dealerships, grocery stores, restaurants, financial institutions, beauty salons, barbershops, and full-service gas stations used to have Hardin bustling during the day. The Dari Dip for example was a frequent stop for many after baseball games, skating, or a leisurely walk or drive during the summer evenings.
While Hardin isn’t the bustling little town from days past, it is still a strong farming community with loyal residents that want to preserve its heritage. We are gathering additional information to be added to the web site for historical preservation. If you have any historical information, articles, or pictures please email history@cityofhardin.com.
